Basically, the papers to be submitted should be extended versions of the papers presented at RO-MAN. In other words, please make sure to cite your RO-MAN paper in the Introduction and/or Related Work sections, and clearly state how the submitted paper differs from it. The required amount of difference depends on the content, but as a general guideline, the submission should include new or extended material compared to the RO-MAN version.

A) Change the title

Using the exact same title as the conference paper may raise concerns about duplicate publication. Update the title to reflect the extended scope or new contributions of the journal version.

B) Clearly explain the novelty of your manuscript

Explicitly describe how the journal paper goes beyond the conference version. Highlight any new findings, analyses, or theoretical insights. This is critical for editors and reviewers to assess the added value of your submission.

C) Revise the figures to include improvements or additions

Avoid reusing figures from the conference paper without modification. Revise them to incorporate new data, alternative visualizations, or expanded interpretations. At a minimum, visual changes should be made; ideally, the figures should reflect deeper contributions.
